We left on schedule yesterday morning, called in to see Hannah and the children at Otford to give them their Easter presents and have a cup of tea, then continued to Dover for the ferry. A bit of a hold-up with a queue of lorries through the town which meant that we were waved straight onto the ship after passport control, security check and check in. Stayed last night at a France Passion (free overnight for motorhomes) at Marais de Guines - at an Ecomusee. Travelled 200 miles today to a campsite we have often used in transit - at Chalons en Champagne.
Decided to stretch our legs and found our way to the Canal du Marne. We ended up walking 4.5 miles because there wasn't another way back over a small river till we reached the next road bridge! Oh well, we were back by 6.30 and it doesn't get dark here till nearly 9. Moving on SE from here tomorrow and probably to another France Passion. So no wifi there - will update when we reach Freiburg on Saturday.
Glad you got off safely. Thanks for coming to "Easter Diaries"- I was pleased with the way it went. Raining here today but I went to the service at London Road and then into Swan Walk to take part in the flash choir. Loads of people taking part so it was a moving experience.
