Riva del Garda

Another sunny day, with maybe slightly less of the haziness over the lake and mountains.  Peter and Hannah were doing some shopping for lunch this morning, so we took things slowly and then set off on bikes on the lakeside path into Riva then on another path following the River Verone inland for about 3k to the family's apartment for the week. The children enjoyed showing us around, especially up to their bedroom on a mezzanine floor.  After lunch on their balcony Peter sorted out bikes for all of them - there were lots in the basement for them to choose from - and we all rode back down to the waterfront for a stroll in and around the town.  Being Sunday afternoon, it was really buzzing, so a really lively atmosphere.  Emilie was delighted to be the finder of a geocache in a stone wall down by the lake.  Then after a meal, we rode our separate ways back home.

  1. Hi John and Ann
Glad you have met up with the family and are enjoying good weather.
We had a lovely party for Tilly on Friday at Joy and Nigel's and lots of family and friends turned up. Tilly took it all in her stride!
Then a good journey back on Saturday.
Today the weather is looking good so I'm planning to join the north Horsham walkers shortly before heading to Sainsbury's this afternoon for fresh supplies.
Keep on blogging and having fun!
    lots of love

  2. Glad you are enjoying Lake Garda- it's beautiful. Ian and I stayed at the Europa Hotel in Riva (right by the water) a couple of years ago and had a great time. Took a boat trip round the lake which was a good day out. Back in Horsham, Starfish Theatre had a workshop n Saturday which went well, some b=new youngsters came along. We are off to Wales on Wednesday to ride on the Welsh Highland Railway and on to Shropshire for a family function at the weekend. Continue to enjoy Italy! Helen xx
