2 days of country hopping. Italy- Switzerland - Italy by road to Porte Tresa yesterday. Today by train Porte Tresa to Lugano. Sitting by lake in lovely park using free town WiFi. More news next stop.
Hope you enjoyed Lugano. I remember the park by the lake and the scary funicular up the hill! It's been quiet here (particularly since we took Andy back!) and there is no news to report regarding Brenda's urgent assessment. Social Services certainly do move at the pace of a snail.
On Sunday we had the first service in our new series 'Active Worship for Everyone', aka Messy Church for grown-ups! Helen and I supervised the creative writing group, which produced a well-received version of the Lord's Prayer. However we could not compete in the popularity stakes with the baking and singing groups! In house group last night, we continued the prayer theme, with a thought-provoking session led by Paul B.
The weather has taken a turn for the chilly recently. On the South Bank yesterday with Keri, we lurched from the Southwark Cathedral refectory (coffee stop) to the Royal Festival Hall ( lunch stop) and back, passing several versions of 'Shaun the sheep', while trying to ignore the biting wind!
On the plus side, I have not needed to water the green shoots in the potato patch, and it has been lovely for the last two Monday walks. The bluebells are now at their best, as is the cherry tree outside my bedroom window. It's getting hard to ignore the election frenzy, but I have yet to be 'door-stepped' by any of the candidates, not even the prospective candidate 4 doors up! Aren't you glad you've got away from it all!
